This page explains what happens to your data when you use BEŞ. It was written to be read, not skimmed past.
Unless you sign in, your worship records stay on your phone. Prayer times, qibla, the Quran, dhikr, qada, the worship log, notes and settings need no account. If you sign in with Google or Apple, these records sync with your account so you can see them on your other phones (you can turn this off; section 7).
Data leaves your phone in three cases, each explained below: ads in the free version (Google AdMob), buying Pro (Apple / Google and RevenueCat), and the Community, if you choose to join (Google or Apple sign-in).
The app is published by KUS GRUP GAMES, which is responsible for your data. Contact: kusgrupgames@gmail.com. For privacy questions, write "Privacy" in the subject line.
Prayer times and the qibla depend on where you are. If you grant location permission, the app checks which city you are in when it is opened (at most every 20 minutes); if you have moved to another district or city, prayer times and notifications update automatically. To find the province and district name, the phone's own map service (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android) is used. There is no continuous background tracking. If you don't, you pick your city from a list and the app still works fully. Your coordinates are used only for calculations on the phone and are never sent to us.
The worship log, qada counters, dhikr records, bookmarks, verse notes, favourites and settings are stored in your phone's own storage. We cannot see, read or back them up. If your phone backup is on, they may be included in your Apple or Google backup, which belongs to you.
The free version shows ads through Google's AdMob service. To show and measure ads, Google processes: device information (model, operating system, language), IP address and the approximate location derived from it, ad interactions (impressions, taps) and, if you allow it, the device advertising identifier.
Ads are limited to content suitable for all ages (G); categories such as alcohol, gambling, dating and politics are blocked. There are no ads in the Quran reader, and none from 15 minutes before a prayer time until 30 minutes after it. Full-screen ads appear only occasionally, when moving between screens — never while you are counting dhikr or using the qibla. Pro users see no ads.
How Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Pro is bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play; we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated app user ID and purchase records (product, date, status) — not your name or email. revenuecat.com/privacy
Dynamic Island / Lock Screen countdown (iPhone). When this feature is on, so the countdown can move to the next prayer the moment it begins, your phone sends our server an Apple-issued notification token, a random device ID, the city name and the names and times of the upcoming prayers. No location coordinates, account or personal data are sent. Turning the feature off in Settings deletes the record; unused records are deleted automatically within a few days.
Content updates. The app downloads content published by our team (announcements, supplications, the verse of the day, facts, share cards) from our server and stores it on your phone. Only the app language is sent with this request; no account details, location or device identifier.
Moderation. Content that breaks the community rules may be hidden or removed by our moderators; accounts may be warned, temporarily muted or banned from the community. Moderators cannot see the contents of your sync record; they only see whether it exists and can delete it at your request. Every moderator action is logged.
Account sync. When you sign in with Google or Apple, your personal records (where you left off in the Quran, bookmarks and notes, worship log, dhikr, qada counters, khatm, fasting, reminders, favourites, course progress and settings) are stored on our server in a record only you can access, so they appear on every phone you sign in to. Your location coordinates are not included; only the cities you saved are. You can turn sync off under Settings → Account; deleting your account deletes this record too.
The Community (prayer board, chat rooms, khatm groups) is off by default and works only if you join. To join, you sign in with your Google or Apple account. The following is then stored on our server (Supabase), hosted in the EU (Ireland):
Other participants see only your nickname and what you post. Reported content is reviewed by an administrator to enforce the community rules. Settings → Account → Delete account permanently deletes your account and everything you shared from the server. The Community is not intended for children under 13.
When you listen to a recitation, the audio streams from the Islamic Network server; the request only contains which verse you are listening to. Content updates read the same public file from GitHub Pages that everyone downloads. In Türkiye with the Diyanet method selected, the official prayer times are fetched from our server (Supabase); the request only contains Diyanet's district number, never your location, account or device identifier. Qibla, the Quran text, translation, dhikr and all calculations work offline; without internet, prayer times are calculated on the phone too.
The app contains no analytics, tracking pixels or crash-reporting library that sends data out. Usage data such as launches or screen views is not sent to us. Crash logs stay on your phone (Settings → Diagnostics).
The worship features are suitable for all ages and ads are limited to the G rating. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; the Community is not intended for children under 13.
You can exercise your rights under the GDPR and KVKK (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection). For records on your phone: Account → Create backup file exports everything into one file, and deleting the app deletes it all. For your Community data: delete your account in the app or write to the address above. For ad data, use Google's settings and the ad privacy options in this app.
If this policy changes, the date above is updated. Any material change to how data is processed will be announced in the app.
